Abstract

The article considers the problem of stress among students, caused by the intensity of the educational process and the insufficient formation of emotional self-regulation skills.

A summary of theoretical data is presented, confirming the prevalence of stressful conditions among young people and the relevance of finding effective psychological tools to overcome them. One of the effective methods in working with stress is art therapy, which helps reduce emotional tension and restore internal resources.

The results of an empirical study of the stress level of first-year students, their level of depression, stress resistance and prevailing coping strategies are presented. The study showed that the sample of psychology students studied is dominated by medium and high levels of stress, moderate and mild depression, medium levels of stress resistance and maladaptive coping strategies (emotionally oriented and unique).

Based on the results obtained, an art therapy program was developed aimed at reducing stress levels, strengthening emotional resilience and forming constructive coping strategies in future specialists. The program contains four modules and includes a number of various art therapy exercises. The program can be useful for psychologists and teachers of higher educational institutions in their work with future specialists. Prospects for further research consist in empirical verification of the proposed art therapy program, as well as the development of recommendations for its implementation in the educational process as an element of systemic psychological support for students. It is also advisable to expand the sample and analyze the obtained data by age and gender in further research. It is also important to evaluate the long-term effects of such programs and compare the effectiveness of different art therapy techniques.
