Abstract

The study is aimed at revealing the complex interrelation of the psychological characteristics of life scripts in middle-aged women who have experienced sexual violence. The main goal is to describe the specific features of the organization and structural components of conducting an empirical study on the psychological characteristics of life scripts in middle-aged women with a history of sexual violence. The stages of the experimental part of the dissertation research are outlined and characterized. At the first stage, a theoretical analysis of scientific sources was conducted, examining the process of life script formation in middle-aged women who have experienced sexual violence, along with its various aspects and levels. The second stage involved setting the research objectives, substantiating the sampling, designing the research program, determining the research stages, selecting methods appropriate to the purpose and tasks of the study, and conducting both quantitative and qualitative analyses of the obtained data. During the third stage, a comprehensive assessment of the psychological characteristics of life scripts in middle-aged women who had experienced sexual violence was carried out. The fourth stage focused on utilizing the obtained results to develop a comprehensive psychotherapeutic support program for middle-aged women who had undergone sexual violence, as well as testing the experimental intervention program, which included specially designed sessions. The fifth stage involved evaluating the effectiveness of the support program based on the repeated application of diagnostic tools. The study is grounded in empirical methods, including: the Posttraumatic Cognitions Inventory (E. B. Foa, A. Ehlers, D. M. Clark, D. F. Tolin, S. M. Orsillo), the PSCQ methodology, the Sacks-Sydney Sentence Completion Test, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC–10), the «Author’s Life Choice» Inventory (O. Hryniova), the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), the Brief COPE – 26, and S. Maksymova’s Early Childhood Decisions Inventory. To assess differences, both parametric and non-parametric criteria were applied in accordance with statistical requirements. Qualitative, comparative, regression, and factor analyses were conducted. The application of this comprehensive methodology allows for a deeper understanding of the interconnection between cognitive, emotional, motivational-value, and behavioral components of the life scripts of middle-aged women who have experienced sexual violence.
