Abstract

The article deals with the specifics of the activity of legal advisory practice. It has been established that reconstructive and communicative components predominate in the activities of a legal consultant. In reconstructive activity, such psychological features of a specialist as a developed imagination, a large amount of memory, well-developed creative thinking are used; general and special intelligence, intuition. It has been determined that the success of communicative activity depends on the specialist's ability to understand the interlocutor, his characteristics, motives, current psychological state; the ability to establish and maintain psychological contact, influence the client; listen effectively and actively; overcome conflict situations, high emotional intensity of work. Focusing on the knowledge of psychological theories, a legal consultant consciously collects an anamnesis, predicts the consequences of various circumstances, creates a correction program and explains to the client how a therapeutic or developmental effect can be achieved.

It has been established that the specifics of counseling also lies in the fact that, as a rule, other specialists are not involved in the counseling process. If such a need arises, this issue is agreed with the client. A legal consultant, starting advisory work, must develop the following components of professional and psychological readiness: a) professional and psychological knowledge adapted to the specifics of legal activity; b) professional psychological skills - these are methods of practical consideration of psychological qualities in law enforcement and law enforcement activities, which are mastered by a legal consultant; c) professionally developed psychological traits that are of particular importance for the activities of law enforcement officers; d) professional and psychological fortitude requires a lawyer-consultant to have high internal activity, significant mobilization of internal forces and mental stress. The main functions of studying the personality of the client are investigated: psychodiagnostic, prognostic, preventive, career guidance, consulting.
