This article shows scholars’ opinions on an important part of professional pedagogical culture of an educator, that is psychological culture. It is proved that psychological culture is characterized by complexity, integrity, structurness. Its components are different personal features that are improved and formed under the effect of general human culture. The degree of the main psychological features and qualities display is a criterion of determination of a psychological culture level.
It is discovered that psychological culture as an indicator of a high level of pedagogical skills development consists of deep knowledge in the sphere of basic psychology, a range of diagnostic methods, comprehensive studying of personal and action-related characteristics of those who are being taught, a complex of professionally significant qualities and humanistic type of pedagogical consciousness.
Its fundamental elements are empathy, reflection, innovative creative and communicational qualities that can help an educator to implement student-centered teaching and educating.
It is discovered that psychological culture is only one side of such a complex phenomenon as professional pedagogical culture of an educator. Availability of professionally significant personal traits, an activity style of an educator, their temperament and other components of psychological culture affect work efficiency of an educator in many ways, but are not decisive. The peculiarity of professional pedagogical culture lies in its integrity, complex structured organization and existence of a system of multidimensional relations between its components.
