Abstract

The article considers the problem of the influence of a person's value orientations on the formation of psychological readiness for motherhood. Theoretical approaches to the definition of the concepts of «value orientations» and «psychological readiness for motherhood» are analyzed, their content, structure and relationship are revealed. It is determined that value orientations are an important factor in the formation of a woman's motivational, emotional and behavioral readiness to fulfill the maternal role. It is substantiated that the system of life values affects the attitude towards family, children, responsibility, parenthood and determines the level of awareness of the significance of motherhood. It is emphasized that sociocultural changes in the transformation of the value sphere of a modern woman have a significant impact on psychological readiness for the birth and upbringing of a child. It has been established that the formed family and humanistic values contribute to a positive attitude towards motherhood, emotional maturity and responsible parenthood. The connection between value orientations and psychological readiness for motherhood has been substantiated. At the same time, the absence of stable values or their uncertainty reduces motivational readiness, increases the level of anxiety and emotional instability, which potentially negatively affects the formation of maternal behavior and interaction with the child. It has been emphasized that the value sphere of personality directly affects the structure of psychological readiness for motherhood. It has been established that the most significant values that contribute to the formation of psychological readiness for motherhood include responsibility, family values, care for others, love, tolerance, humanism and a focus on raising a child. It has been proven that a woman's moral qualities and tolerance have a positive effect on the formation of a maternal position, acceptance of a child and the development of unconditional love, which is the basis of psychological readiness for motherhood.
