The article presents an analysis of psychological and pedagogical research on the personal anxiety of a psychologist and its impact on the effectiveness of professional activity. The meaning of the concept of anxiety as a state of preparatory increase of sensory attention and motor tension in a situation of possible danger, which provides an appropriate response to fear. The concept of personal anxiety which can act as a signal of inadequacy of structure of activity of the subject concerning a situation is considered. It is analyzed that increased anxiety can most often occur when a person is exposed to stresses of different nature and is realized as a result of complex interactions of cognitive, affective and behavioral reactions. manifested in feelings of insecurity, insecurity, helplessness, helplessness in the face of real objective or imaginary, external or internal factors that include the danger and threat to self-esteem, the level of demands, the satisfaction of basic needs. It has been proven that anxiety affects the effectiveness of professional activities. Destructive anxiety in a specialist not only leads to inefficient performance of their professional duties, but also accelerates the onset of burnout. An suboptimal level of anxiety can contribute to the appearance of maladaptation, be incompatible with the work of a psychologist as a representative of the professions "man-man". high levels of anxiety reduce the success of professional activities. Anxious people act most successfully in a standard environment, a stable structured, familiar situation, even the slightest uncertainty and requirements that exceed their capabilities can dramatically increase anxiety, which will inevitably have a negative impact on performance. It has been established that anxiety affects the motivation of activity, as a result, highly anxious people experience fear of failure, which leads to lower performance. Anxiety affects the self-regulation of the individual, in particular, a high level of anxiety destroys the structure of self-regulation, and low - reduces the role of self-control. It is proved that the professionalism of a psychologist-practitioner requires proper self-knowledge and psycho-correction of one's own problems.
