The article analyzes the influence of mass media on the formation of the future family member. Understanding the problem of the influence of the media on the formation of the future family member allows us to conclude that the rapid development of the consumption of media products leads to an increase in the influence of the mass media on the formation of the personality as a future family member. At the same time, mass media can exert both positive and negative influence on the formation of family values and ideas about family and family relationships. The positive influence of the mass media is reflected in the effective influence of the media on the individual's assimilation of the system of knowledge about family life, family functions, as well as on the understanding of the desired behavior patterns of marriage partners. It turned out that 100% of the respondents use the Internet every day (to do homework and to spend their free time). Particular attention is paid to video content from the creators of the information context about the family (video bloggers), as well as to various programs and films. The negative influence of mass media is manifested in harmful media content, which forms a false image of the family, the peculiarities of its life activities, and a distorted understanding of the role of a family member. The majority of survey participants indicated that they need a system of knowledge about mass communication media, their benefits and harms for a person, the ability to acquire, consciously perceive and critically interpret the necessary information, in particular, about family and marital life.
Hence, there is a need to form in young people a culture of perceiving a set of information and communication tools and to develop the ability to use the necessary information about family and married life, as well as the development of recommendations for the critical interpretation of mass media information from various media about family functions and important family roles of spouses.
